AFTERCARE

Permanent Makeup Post-Care Instructions

Proper aftercare is essential to the appearance, healing, and longevity of your permanent makeup. Please follow all instructions carefully.

Immediately After Your Appointment (First 24 Hours)

• Gently blot excess lymph every 5–10 minutes using a clean tissue until oozing has completely stopped

• Keep the treated area clean and completely dry for the first 24 hours

• Do not touch the area except when blotting with clean tissue

Cleansing & Moisturizing (After 24 Hours)

Beginning 24 hours after your appointment:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the area

• Gently cleanse the treated area twice daily (morning and night) using clean fingertips, mild soap, and light circular motions

• Pat the area dry — do not rub

• Once the skin is completely dry, apply a very thin layer of the provided aftercare ointment

• Do not apply ointment to damp skin

• Use ointment sparingly — the skin needs to heal naturally

• Continue applying ointment for 5 days only

Avoid the Following for 14 Days Post-Procedure

• Excessive sweating

• Exercising or sports

• Swimming

• Hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or hot baths

• Sun exposure, tanning beds, or UV/UVA rays

• Laser treatments, chemical peels, or facials

• Products containing Retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, or exfoliants

• Picking, peeling, scratching, or rubbing the treated area

• Heavy household cleaning (garages, basements, dusty environments)

• Excessive alcohol consumption

• Open-air vehicles (convertibles, boats, bicycles, motorcycles)

• Touching the area except when cleansing or applying aftercare ointment

Showering Instructions

• Cleanse the area gently with clean hands

• Avoid direct water pressure on the treated area

• Keep your face away from the showerhead or opt for a bath

Normal Healing Symptoms

• Itching and flaking may occur within the first 7 days

• Flaking may resemble dry skin or dandruff — this is normal

• Do not pick or peel; allow flakes to fall off naturally

Following these instructions helps minimize discomfort and supports proper healing.

Healing Timeline & Color Expectations

• The complete healing process typically takes 6–8 weeks, depending on skin type, age, and individual healing response

• Color will appear very natural immediately after the procedure

• Pigment may appear darker the following day

• After peeling, the area may appear lighter — this is normal and not premature fading

• Some pigment loss or unevenness can occur even with proper care

• This is why most clients require a touch-up around 6–8 weeks

• Final healed results are visible once the skin has fully regenerated

Long-Term Care

• Once fully healed, apply SPF 30–50 sunscreen to the treated area when exposed to sunlight

• Sun exposure can cause premature fading

• When applying foundation, avoid the treated area, as makeup can make it appear lighter
